This beautiful Lady of the Snows stands on the top of Pico Espejo (Mérida, Venezuela) at 4,765 meters above sea level. The statue is 3,5 meters and 5 metric tons of sheer marble. It was commissioned in the early 1960's to Walter Ribani (Carraca, Italy) by Carlos Chalbaud Zerpa and Francisco Anzil on behalf of the Venezuelan Andean Club. It was installed in September of 1965, after a transatlantic journy that included one steamboat, two locomotives and a cableway.

 

Signed and numbered in front. Supplied with signed certificate of authenticity.

 

Framed artwork is float mounted 1/8" above the mat on an archival foamboard lift in a black maple or white maple frame with non-glare optimum musseum crystal. Unframed artwork is delivered in heavy-duty art mailing tube.
